About Us

Neve Michael is a safe haven for Israeli children at risk whose biological parents can no longer care for them. We provide sustenance, education, and a warm and caring environment to needy children from the ages of 3 to 18 years old.

Neve Michael, located in Pardes Hanna, Israel, serves children from all over the country who were brought to our doorstep at a tender age and under traumatic circumstances. In many cases, these unfortunate children’s natural parents are poverty stricken – or afflicted with mental illness or drug and alcohol addictions.

Neve Michael is under the supervision of Emunah.

Our Mission Statement

At Neve Michael, our mission is to create a family-like atmosphere for our children that is so sorely missing in their lives, to provide them with the best therapeutic care, develop their young minds, and mold them into young adults. We help our children overcome their family misfortunes, restore their capacities for normal
physical, emotional, and educational development, and guide them towards a better future.

Family Units

Residential units in the children’s village, consist of a married couple with their biological children who live with around 12 children from the village. The unit is adapted to their needs. The children are exposed to “parents” and to a homelike atmosphere providing love, warmth, care and support. For these unfortunate children, the family unit provides a corrective framework that helps them recover from their traumatic experiences.

Elementary School
Located on campus, the school is supervised by the Ministry of Education and adapted to meet the individual needs of our children. The school consists of around 100 children who are also from the surrounding area. This year we proudly took in 25 Bnei Menashe children who only arrived in Israel before Rosh Hashana.

Day Care Program
This is a community-oriented project where over 65 children ages 4-13 (up to sixth grade) participate. Upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Welfare, a group of children from disadvantaged families living in the community come after school to Neve Michael where they receive a hot lunch, help with homework, professional attention (from social workers), supper, a hot shower and a ride back home. Our day care program also provides a variety of extra-curricular activities.

A Message from David Frydman, Director of Neve Michael Children's Home

In today’s high paced and fast changing world, a website is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity. Our Children’s Home may be a nonprofit undertaking in every sense of the meaning, but not unlike a commercial enterprise, we do not operate in a vacuum. Without the backing of our many friends and supporters, we would be unable to carry out our vital mission for Israeli children at risk. To draw support, the manner in which we present ourselves to the world is of utmost importance. Towards this end, we throw open our doors and windows and invite all those caring benefactors and donors, old and new, to take a look inside and see us as we are, at home at Neve Michael, on our website.

This site welcomes you to come visit us, beckons you to look at the fine work we are doing for our children, and implores you to help us with our mission. First and foremost, our site tells you about our children. It relates who they are and how they arrived at our doorstep. Through the personal stories of traumatized children living in our Home, our website shows you a glimpse at the deep, inner pain they have suffered. But our site also tells you about the positive things: The way we provide for our children, the love and caring we give them, the many wonderful programs we run to help our children on their road to recovery. On our website, our supporters are kept well informed with periodic updates on all our activities. What’s more, our children get to see this invaluable staging of their Home, and the feeling of importance it gives them can only be matched by the sense that there are people who really care about them.

Our mission is one of great humanitarian importance, and merits the high level of presentation that our website provides. If it opens the minds and hearts of just a few caring individuals who are willing to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of our children, than I can truly say that www.nevemichael.com  is an asset of Neve Michael.

Sincerely,

David Frydman, Director of Neve Michael
